Beginners Guide to Ball Pythons

03BP2025 Clutch
Hatched 5/19/2025
Dam: Wild caught orange-colored dinker (SlytherInn)
Sire: 13BP2018-05 Mota SlytherInn

This clutch was made to prove out the 'SlytherInn' gene(s) from a wild-caught female which had a bright orange coloration.

The sire is from the first generation of the Wild-caught female crossed with a Mota - Also known as a Fire. All F1 progeny were phenotypically Normals or Mota.

This F2 cross of the wild-caught female and her male F1 offspring also resulted in Normals and Motas.

It would appear the bright orange color of the wild-caught female is not dominant or recessive, but perhaps a poly-genetic combination of genes.

17BP2021 Clutch
Hatched 12/04/2022
Dam: Enchi
Sire: Black Head het. Albino

The goal of this cross was to produce an Enchi Black Head.

There is a 50% chance that any offspring has the albino gene.

The price of the snakes reflects the value of the visible gene. If it is het for albino, that's just a bonus. To this date, the het albino gene in the sire has not been proven.
